Qube Automotive Consultancy

Qube Data Management

Qube Data Management are now known as Qube Automotive Consultancy, one of the UK's premier data intelligence companies within the automotive trade. My career at Qube begin at the same time as the dot-com bubble ended, but the Internet age was in its infancy and the chance to learn website development as well as my day-to-day responsibilities is a privilege I will never be able to repay. Before the company specialised in the Automotive industry, Qube had a small but divese client offering, from Gaming, Retail and Local Authority as well as globally known automotive brands.

RMG Connect

RMG Connect/JWT London

RMG Connect was the relationship marketing arm of JWT, developing integrated marketing solutions before being disbanded and consumed as part of a wider JWT offering. My remit was provisionally to look after the Shell Motorsport website, but quickly evolved to all areas of front-end website development, from microsites, landing pages, HTML Email campaigns and website application builds.

James Villa Holidays

James Villa Holidays

Initially I joined James Villa Holidays as an application developer and was part of a strong team of fullstack developers. As well as working on the customer facing e-commerce website I was working on the trade website (villas4you) and the internal booking system, which was a bespoke web application written internally for the business. My final project as a developer within the team was to help build a mobile app for customers as a post-booking and travel companion. Due to a change of senior management team I was invited to take ownership of the websites by first giving the Villas4You website a face-lift, before taking the main consumer website and consolidating all online activity into the single top-level domain. Whilst at James Villas I became a people leader for the first time, looking after a team of designers and HTML developers who built the company email templates.

Villas4You - Website Evolution

The trade website for James Villas was a re-badged replica of the main site, but with an older look and feel. My first task as Website Manager was to evolve the brand into a modern consumer facing website, which was so successful that it made the main website appear out of date - driving urgency to replicate our success across the main site itself.

James Villa Holidays - Website Evolution

Using Qubit, our CRO tool, we trialled various test hypothesis cases to inform the design decision along the way to evolving the website. We were able to distinguish distinct behaviour between persona types; couples, families and groups - optimising the user experience and personalising the key marketing messages at multiple digital touch-points.

Digital Transformation

The processes and digital methodologies which I helped establish at James Villas are still in place and have evolved as the company have continued to embrace data as a key-driver to commercial success.

Wendy Wu Tours

Wendy WU Tours

I was asked to join Wendy Wu Tours by my previous managing director at James Villas who had been employed by Wendy Wu Tours to head up their own digital transformation project. The Big Idea initially was to build a single web application, a global dot-com and consolidate multiple market websites into a single platform powered by Umbraco. As of December 2019, the website was ready for launch, but difficult trading results combined with a change of Senior Leadership have reprioritised the business objectives in the short-term.

I have worked across each market at some point since I have been at Wendy Wu Tours, offering assistance across the bespoke CMS which was built in China. Whilst the new Senior Leadership Team confirm timelines for the resumption of the dotcom project I have been migrating elements from the dotcom site to the existing local UK market site to help facilitate a simpler migration when the time comes.
